Anti-Poverty Week 2018
15 October 2018
Anti–Poverty Week is a week where all Australians are encouraged to organise or participate in activities that aim to highlight or overcome poverty in Australia and overseas.
Anti–Poverty Week has officially begun and will continue until this Saturday 20 October.
Its main aims are to:
- Strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship around the world and in Australia
- Encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems
On Wednesday 17 October, Good Shepherd staff based on the Mornington Peninsula will support the 2018 Fair Deal Housing and Wellbeing Expo.
The event, hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Housing Network, will provide members of the community with the opportunity to learn about the support services available to them, and strategies to help improve their wellbeing.
If you've yet to make a plan, there's still time! Find out more about activities in your community.
