Women’s Policy Action Tank Forum - 16 August 2016

1 August 2016

Putting Women at the Centre: A Policy Forum

Women and men experience the impacts of policy differently. Recognising this, the Power to Persuade and Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand have jointly initiated the Women’s Policy Action Tank. This one-day forum explores themes of justice and economic security as they manifest for women.

The forum will cast a gender lens over policy design and implementation in selected key areas impacting women’s wellbeing, searching for the threads that link the experiences of diverse groups of women and the patterns of disadvantage that patriarchy creates.

Panels will explore themes of justice and economic security as they manifest for women. Different platforms for feminist civic participation will also be discussed, along with concepts of voice, agency and resistance.

Themes:

  • Working the spaces of power
  • The power behind money
  • Justice for women
