Australian Govt urged to ratify Paris Agreement

In April this year, Australia was one of the 175 parties to sign the Paris Agreement to combat climate change and take serious action to invest in a low-carbon future.

Without ratification, the document is not legally binding. So far, only 22 parties have ratified the agreement, representing only 1.08% of green-house-gas emissions.

Australia is not among this group.

The Good Shepherd Sisters have called upon Minister Frydenberg to stand up and take serious action on climate change by ratifying the Paris Agreement at the opening of the United Nations assembly this September.
